2010 Acura TSX

Acura ups the performance of its sports sedan by adding a V-6 to the line-up, which is mated to a specially geared sport shift automatic transmission. The V-6 TSX also features revised front suspension with stiffer springs and revised calibration for the shock absorbers.

The new engine produces 280 horsepower and 254 lb.-ft. of torque through the use of an 11.2:1 compression ratio, VTEC valve train and a dual-stage intake system. The 2.4-liter, inline four-cylinder produces 201 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft of torque. The four-cylinder is offered with either six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. Acura’s flagship luxury sedan continues with improvements made last while adding an iPod interface standard and sun-sensing climate control as an option. The RL comes with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and a 300-horsepower V-6.

Three RL variations are available: RL, RL with Technology Package and RL with Technology Package Plus CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System). 2011 Acura TL SH-AWD

Acura's performance sedan for 2011 is offered in two models, the TL and TL SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive), which comes with a more powerful V-6 engine and can be had with a six-speed manual transmission.

The TL SH-AWD is powered by a 3.7-liter, V-6 engine producing 305 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. The all-wheel drive system uses torque vectoring to distribute power front to rear and left to right, allowing creation of a “yaw moment” at one rear wheel to help the TL turn in more quickly. Currently in its second generation, the 2011 Acura MDX luxury SUV is little changed from last year. But that has more to do with its success and full features than anything else. As expected with a top-of-the-line model, the MDX carries a long list of advanced features.

2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon

Arriving in late fall, Acura’s TSX Sport Wagon adds utility to the popular model of sedan. Acura pulled the covers off the TSX Sport Wagon at the New York Auto Show last spring. The 2011 TSX Sport Wagon is powered by a 2.4-liter, i-VTEC, four-cylinder engine. The automaker didn’t announce power figures, but the same size engine in the TSX sedan produces 201 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a sequential-shift, five-speed automatic. With this drive train, the Sport Wagon is rated at 30 mpg on the highway, which is the same as the sedan achieves with the four-cylinder and automatic transmission. 2011 Acura TL Redesign

Acura plans another redesign for the 2011 Acura TL sedan. The last body change was in 2009 for the TL and included a complete redesign overhaul, so for the 2011 many are speculating small body tweaks or more of a redesign refresh involving head lamps and body trim. So expect 2011 Acura TL to look mostly the same for the new model year. Acura may give the TL’s divisive style a few design tweaks for more mass appeal, but major changes are unlikely. We will see once official press photos of the 2011 Acura TL are made available. If Acura ends up offering a V8-equipped TL, the body style of that model may look distinct from that of other trims. 2010 Acura TSX: More Power, Slightly Less Sport

The 2010 Acura TSX has received a number of updates, but the biggest update is the availability of a powerful V6 engine for the first time. Acura’s TSX is an entry level, sporty compact that previously had been powered by a high-revving four cylinder engine. When it was last redesigned, the TSX got larger, but didn’t receive a boost in power which hampered the car’s performance qualities until now.

Acura TL Adds Sportiness With Manual Transmission

The Acura brand has been attempting to radically change its image with consumers by moving up market and by increasing its sportiness quotient to more comfortably be associated with the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus.
