Currently in its second generation, the 2011 Acura MDX luxury SUV is little changed from last year. But that has more to do with its success and full features than anything else. As expected with a top-of-the-line model, the MDX carries a long list of advanced features. Acura’s sophisticated 3.7-liter, direct-injection, V-6 engine propels the MDX with 300 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. Acura’s Active Damper System, which uses a magnetic fluid to control suspension movement, is an option and complements the independent suspension and torque-sensing power steering.
