Acura's performance sedan for 2011 is offered in two models, the TL and TL SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive), which comes with a more powerful V-6 engine and can be had with a six-speed manual transmission.
The TL SH-AWD is powered by a 3.7-liter, V-6 engine producing 305 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. The all-wheel drive system uses torque vectoring to distribute power front to rear and left to right, allowing creation of a “yaw moment” at one rear wheel to help the TL turn in more quickly. Arlington Acura dealer or Arlington Acura or Arlington Acura dealers has more information on the 2011 Acura TL SH-AWD.
The standard transmission for both TL models is the Sequential SportShift five-speed automatic, which includes steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The six-speed manual gearbox is 86 pounds lighter than the five-speed SportShift automatic, which enhances the TL SH-AWD’s performance.
Safety features include antilock brakes with electronic force distribution and assist, stability control, tire pressure monitoring system and daytime running lights. The TL SH-AWD comes with 18-inch alloy wheels standard or 19-inch alloys shod with high-performance summer tires as an option.
